Robotics: Building Blocks of a Creator

Course Description

This course is designed for young children to learn the fundamentals of robotics and programming. Utilizing the most advanced educational tools developed in the Silicon Valley, including Dash & Dot, Beebot, and Hopscotch, students will come to understand technology as a tool to solve problems and create useful things.

Students practice giving commands to the robots in class by working on puzzles and projects. Basic concepts in mathematics and programming, such as time, speed and conditionals, will also be taught during class. They are introduced to block programming through the intuitive interface of their iPads. By the end of the course, our students would have moved beyond playing with their devices, and begin to see them as tools for a creative purpose.
